Abstract

This research explores the history and evolution of mechanical creation in digital art and design learning, with a focus on understanding its impact upon the field. It aims to identify key historical influences that have shaped the development of mechanical creation and highlight how it has guided the broader field of digital art and design learning. This research provides insight by utilising a combination of literature review, case studies and online interviews with designers. The study also proposes ways to address the key challenges and opportunities facing mechanical creation in digital art and design learning. Ultimately, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of mechanical creation in digital art and design learning and the potential implications for the future of the field.
