Disciplines of telemedicine include teleanesthesia, telecardiology, teledermatology, teleconsultation, telemonitoring, home telecare, telepsychiatry, teleneurology, teleradiology, teleoncology, teleophthalmology, telepathology, and telesurgery. Various standards are used to ensure efficient communication between telemedicine systems and medical devices.
