Abstract
This letter presents a sensing system based on a meta-fluid reflector, which proposes a novel operational paradigm by introducing the principles of Fluid Antenna Systems (FAS) into a reconfigurable metasurface. The core concept lies in rapidly reconfiguring the effective scattering aperture to mimic fluid- like spatial agility, thereby generating massive spatial diversity without altering the underlying hardware. The proposed system integrates inverse scattering theory with a compressive sensing algorithm. By exploiting the programmable and broadband properties of the reflector, a joint frequency-spatial diversity measurement pattern is synthesized from the stochastic radiation fields, serving as the basis for target localization via compressive sensing. Full-wave simulation validates the theoretical accuracy and engineering feasibility of the system. Evaluation in multi-target scattering scenarios demonstrates its high-resolution imaging capability (Structural Similarity Index, SSIM > 0.82), highlighting the considerable potential of this high-performance sensing scheme.
