Abstract

The synergy between the multiple access control (MAC) layer and the physical layer for the reverse-link direction of a cellular wireless network was discussed. This joint design of MAC and physical layer was used in voice and data services systems. This design provides a high quality of voice communication which was determined by the average packet loss probability.
