Abstract

The usage of sand as a building material has triggered a range of environmental problems and a rapid degradation of river beds. The shortage of sand and water supply and the low consistency of sand as a building material have proven to be a major challenge in the construction sector. In modern construction, new green building materials for sand-free plastering are developing green building technologies to substitute conventional plastering that required the usage of sand, water and cement. As such, a research study is being undertaken to evaluate the traditional sand plastering process and to define the new sand-free plastering technologies for building and construction.
