Abstract

Knowledge transfer emphasizes on using systematic ways of capturing, collecting, sharing knowledge which can be implemented to user with positive outcomes. In clinical settings, transferring knowledge into health care services is essential so as to ensure quality of care and patient safety. To achieve these goals, development of evidence-based practice becomes more and more crucial in the process of transferring knowledge to daily practice. In this chapter, the authors will share their experience of how they initiated an evidence-based practice in both adult and neonatal units using the framework developed by Melnyk-Fineout-Overholt (2005). The process of its development will focus on problem identification, review and appraise evidence, integrate evidence and assessing challenges in practice decision.
