Abstract
This paper presented broadband stacked coplanar patch antennas. The antennas were designed based on the stacked patch technique developed for microstrip patch antennas, in which the lower patch is a coplanar patch and is fed by a conductor-backed coplanar waveguide, and the upper patch is a microstrip patch. Simulated and measured results demonstrated that the antennas have the bandwidth of 12% (at 10 dB return loss), the largest gain of 6.4 dBi, and a good symmetrical radiation pattern.
