Abstract
Supply chain management has faced unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conventional methods have struggled with security and efficiency issues. Yet, there's a promising solution at the intersection of digital twins and blockchain technology. Blockchain enhances digital twins by fortifying data security, traceability, transparency, and efficiency in virtual representations. Digital twins create precise virtual replicas of physical assets, processes, or systems, enabling synchronized data management for monitoring, simulation, and forecasting. The amalgamation of blockchain and digital twins holds transformative potential, reshaping supply chain management in the Industry 4.0 era. This literature review offers a comprehensive survey of blockchain-based digital twin solutions. We delve into the substantial benefits arising from this fusion, exploring applications across supply chain processes: from smart manufacturing to intelligent maintenance and blockchain-driven digital twins in shop floors, warehouses, and logistics. Our work bears relevance for research and practical implementation, underlined by an exploration of future research prospects.
