Abstract

Where students complete a number of assignments in a subject, later assignments include a question which follows up questions asked in the preceding assignment. This follow-up question is derived from some 'basic' questions asked in the preceding assignment. The basic questions are designed to cover the basic concepts and techniques presented in the course material. Students are motivated to work on at least the follow-up question and the basic questions in each assignment and then study carefully the written comments from their tutors on their answers.
