Abstract

Previous research focused on innovative technologies in higher education, neglecting educational gains. Insufficient data exists to support the effectiveness of educational technology due to reliance on student satisfaction surveys. Lack of defined theories and their application hinders theory advancement. A review study examined 96 filtered studies from 1998 to 2020, mapping educational technology applications to theories and suggesting future research directions.
