A multi-dimensional analytics approach to course evaluation

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference contribution › peer-review

Abstract

This paper presents a multi-dimensional analytics approach to course evaluation to facilitate the monitoring and enhancement of teaching and learning quality. A course evaluation platform has been developed, which utilises data from student feedback surveys and course grades for various levels of data analysis to satisfy the diverse needs and interests of different stakeholders. The platform supports trend and pattern analyses regarding the dimensions of students' satisfaction and course grades across academic terms. By enabling users to find out efficiently and effectively the relationships between courses, instructors, student satisfaction, and course grades, the course evaluation platform facilitates users to gain insights and take suitable follow-up actions for course and teaching improvement.
