Abstract
The rapid development of high-speed railway has led to the growth of stations along the routes. In the context of compact city, high-speed railway stations have not only assumed the function of transportation, but also are being transformed into urban public space. The relationship between stations and urban space through underground space provides a new paradigm for urban public space. The evaluation of the performance of underground space surrounding high-speed railway stations (USSHRS) is of great significance in advancing the sustainable utilization of USSHRS. Current studies started mostly from qualitative perspective and empirical analysis, lacking quantitative measurement. Therefore, this paper focuses on the spatial organization of USSHRS, organically combines high-speed railway station and urban underground space with the concept of station-city integration. A network model of USSHRS is formulated based on complex network. With Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Shenzhen Futian Railway Station as cases, the paper selects classical indexes to measure the network performance of the two cases, compares the two cases under different abstraction principles and summarizes the performance of plane connectivity. Then the optimization attempts are proposed and compared with the original case, so as to draw out the influence of various types of connectivity on the performance of USSHRS. Finally, the important role of the metro stations as the key nodes of evacuation is summarized, providing a guideline for the subsequent development of USSHRS.
