Biography
Professor Yu-hon Lui is currently the Vice President (Resources and Development) of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU).
Professor LUI obtained his B.B.A. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and subsequently M.A. (Distinction) and Ph.D. degrees in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, UK. He started his career in the banking industry before devoting himself in the higher education sector in 1986. He served various academic positions in City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University between 1986 and 1998. In February 1998, he joined HKMU as Director of Centre for Continuing and Community Education (CCCE) in February 1998, and successfully transformed the CCCE from a small general education distance learning centre to a quality continuing and professional education provider, Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE), specializing in promoting lifelong learning and professional education. In August 2000, he took up the role of Professor and Director of LiPACE until December 2014 when he joined Tung Wah College as the President. During his terms of service as the President at Tung Wah College, Professor LUI successfully led the College to become a prestigious post-secondary college with niche in quality healthcare education. Professor LUI returned to HKMU in March 2020 as the Vice President (Resources and Development).
