Professor William Yeoh is an award-winning academic at Hong Kong Metropolitan University's Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration. Previously, he served at Deakin University's Deakin Business School for 14 years and was the Innovation Head of Deakin Cyber Research and Innovation Centre.

 

He has successfully supervised 8 doctoral and 10 master theses. He is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the International Journal of Business Intelligence Research and the Big Data and Analytics Educational Conference Co-Chair. ScholarGPS ranks him as the 7th highest-ranked researcher globally in the Business Intelligence field.

 

His scholarship has been published in top journals, including 37A/A* ABDC-ranked journals, and top conferences (e.g., ICIS, PACIS, ECIS, HICSS), and has been supported by various funding bodies and industry (across all CAT 1-4). His expert opinions have been featured on national news outlets, e.g., ABC Radio, SBS News, Australian Financial Review, The New Daily, etc.

1- The 2025 Exemplary Lecturer Award from the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP WG 8.4) //This international award recognises exemplary teaching, mentorship, and dedication to advancing education in the field of E-Business Information Systems.

 

2- The 2024 Cyber Security Researcher of the Year Award (a national award presented by the Australian Information Security Association, AISA is Australia's peak body for cyber security professionals)

 

3- The ICT Educator of the Year Gold Award (a national award by the Australian Computer Society - ACS is Australia’s peak ICT professional association & accreditation body)

5- Two-time IBM Faculty Awards (an internationally competitive award offered by IBM Corporation),

At Deakin University, he has served as Director of the IBM Centre of Excellence in Business Analytics, Co-Director of the Faculty's Business and Technology Theme, Director of Teaching, Course Director, Department's Director of International, Director of Industry Engagement, and HDR Coordinator.

 

He was a visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa (Telfer School of Management) and a visiting professor at the University of Indonesia. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). Previously, he was the Deputy Dean (R&D and Postgraduate Programs) at UTAR's Faculty of ICT, where he established the PhD and Master's research programs in 2009. He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), an honour representing induction into the ACS Hall of Fame.
