Biography

Professor Tsang has extensive clinical experience in various sectors of physiotherapy service with special expertise in geriatric physiotherapy. Before joining Hong Kong Metropolitan University as head of Department of Physiotherapy, he was the associate head and associate professor of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has been the subject leaders of the departmental functional anatomy and faculty human anatomy courses. Professor Tsang now serves as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Registration Committee and member of the Physiotherapists Board, Hong Kong.

Professor Tsang is well known for his abundant research in the areas of postural control and preventative exercise including extensive scientific study of Tai Chi and qigong and Western exercise such as golfing. He has published extensively on postural and balance control and their improvement through exercise, working particularly with older adults and stroke and cancer survivors. He has published too on falls prevention programs for individuals with mild cognitive impairment.
