MAK Shing Fung

Mr. Mak is an academic and media practitioner specializing in animation and video arts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master of Fine Arts (with Distinction) from the School of Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong.

Currently active in both education and professional media production, he has exhibited his creative work extensively at international and local platforms, including the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial, the Tokyo Video Festival, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, and the Octopus Art Exhibition in Israel.

His contributions to the field have earned him numerous accolades, such as the Silver Award at the 15th ifva Festival (Animation Category), the Prize-of-Effort at the 12th TBS DigiCon6 Animation & Movie Awards, and the Bronze Award in the Amazing Cities Animation Competition. At Hong Kong Metropolitan University, his dedication to pedagogy and institutional achievement has been recognized with multiple President’s Awards for Teaching Excellence and Distinguished Achievement.
