Biography

Dr. Beatrice Oi-yeung Lam received her PhD in sociology from The University of Manchester. She has previously taught at The University of Hong Kong and currently works as a lecturer at The Open University of Hong Kong. She has always been interested in researching the mechanisms underlying social stratification and the ways in which inequality is produced, especially in relation to education and the family. She is now working on a project on the employability of recent graduates of self-financed institutions in Hong Kong.
